Jim Flannery has worked in the occupational health and safety field since 2000. Over those 25 years he has supported projects ranging from a few hundred dollars in scope to hundreds of millions, in roles from site safety coordinator to consulting principal.

In 2015, Jim founded Flannery Safety Consulting in Lethbridge, Alberta. That same year he became the first Gold Seal certified Safety Coordinator in Lethbridge. In 2016, Flannery Safety Consulting was named runner up in the Chinook Entrepreneur Challenge. In 2018 he earned his Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation, Canada’s most recognized credential in the field.

He became the first Gold Seal certified Safety Coordinator in Lethbridge, AB in 2015.

Jim holds a diploma in Occupational Health and Safety from the University of Alberta. He is also a National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO) and an ACSA certified Consultant Auditor for COR and SECOR audits.

His work has covered nearly every sector of construction: commercial, industrial, residential, civil, oil and gas service, and trades from arborists to chiropractors. The common thread is a calm, plainspoken approach that translates regulation into something a crew can actually use on Monday morning.
